While we don't know too much about the Ananta protagonist, on the official website, the developer states that he's a captain from the ACD task force. There was also an older trailer that featured a female protagonist, but we haven't seen her recently.

Taffy
Taffy is a short girl with long white rabbit ears. She’s a new investigator but dreams of becoming a legendary investigator someday. Her life philosophy is something I admire, as she aims to never do anything annoying, drink lots of cola, and take plenty of breaks while working.
Dila
A girl shrouded in mystery who investigates the meteor disaster in the Nova Inception Urbs. She's even able to control meteors herself.
All that's known about her is her name and gender. A riveting mystery to say the least.
Ringo
"Anything cool happen on your last mission? I'm dying to know all the deets! Lay it on me!"— Ringo
A lively high schooler juggling life as a liaison for the D.P.A. Emoji enthusiast - can't hold a chat online without 'em. Her weekend isn't complete without hitting the shopping lane and scoring some pudding from Dream Garden. Got a super urgent mission? Better reach out to the "Captain" ASAP!
Aileen

Manager at Dream Garden, the ultimate maid with an eye for detail.
With her gentle touch and impeccable service, customers see her as an "angel."
But cross her, and she'll unleash her martial prowess to take down any foe.
Lykaia

The Prime Minister of Nova City, mature, effortlessly cool, and a complete smooth operator. With instincts akin to a wolf, she's always in control, keeping her cool even when things get dicey. Always prioritizing the big picture, she rarely focuses on herself.
Alan
"Conversation is an art. It can encourage others, but also kill without a trace."—Alan
A social butterfly trading in information who roams the shopping street, mingling with most anyone. Alan lends a helping hand whenever possible, all you've got to do is ask. Making the most of his time, he's all smiles and considers his part-time modeling gigs equally important as his studies. You can often find him on the streets in passionate conversation. While born into a family of great influence, Alan grew up a free spirit, indulging in his freedom with each breath. While he seemingly wanders into the dark parts of town every once in a while, he always just strolls out unscathed sometimes later... He appears to use a yo-yo as his weapon and you can sometimes see snowflakes appear when he attacks.
Mechanika
"Meg here! Let's get this concert started!"—Mechanika
A ghost worker at Shorewater Industries who can make machines come alive. Cool, yeah? But cooler yet is having a concert with a bunch o' machines! Big-bada-boom clangety dang! All work gets done in a jiffy in a hubbub of mechanical clangs. A guardian angel who loves nothing more than to help humans and indulge in a plate or three of French fries. Say, isn't Mechanika a real treat?
Bansy
"I'll paint my mark on the world for sure!"—Bansy
A street artist with a knack for destruction and creativity. Heh, wanna make graffiti too? A free soul whose passion for new things burns red hot, for a minute, give or take. Just like most artists in the Delirium Block. Graffiti, now that IS love. Take a gander, I promise you won't even believe your eyes!
Richie
Another member of the ACD, Richie is a tough cookie who any criminals would do best to play nice with. On the official website, it states that she always cleans her plate when served food at work.
Seymour
Seymour seems to be a hacker who travels in an RV and doesn't appreciate any questions about his mask. If you want to catch his attention, you need to do something headline-worthy.
